Susan Ford

Of Counsel.

Susan Ford is a fierce and dynamic advocate for her clients, with over 20 years of experience litigating intellectual property and business disputes in both Oregon and Washington.

As a former shareholder at one of Portland’s largest law firms, as well as the principal and founder of her own litigation boutique in downtown Portland, Susan graces Protea Legal Co. with a brilliant combination of big-firm prowess and small-firm attention to detail.

Susan protects her clients’ intellectual property rights through patent trademark, copyright, and trade secret advising and litigation. She also advocates for businesses of all types and sizes in partnership and LLC membership disputes, actions for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty, and business tort claims including misrepresentation, interference with contract, and unfair competition.

In addition to litigation, Susan’s practice includes drafting and negotiating business contracts, including intellectual property licensing and assignment agreements, non-disclosure agreements, confidentiality agreements, and independent contractor agreements.

When she's not practicing law, you'll likely find Susan spending time with her two teenagers (and two little dogs), on her road bike in wine country, or reading books about entrepreneurship and law firm management.
